Distribution of Tips & Gratuities Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide clarity on the distribution of tips and gratuities to employees within One Society & Hidden by One Society. We are committed & always have been committed to distributing tips and gratuities to employees in a clear, equitable and transparent manner.
 

All employees have been issued with this policy. In line with the Payment of Wages (Amendment) (Tips & Gratuities) Act 2022, customers also have an entitlement to view this policy.

 

Scope

This policy addresses the distribution of tips and gratuities. It also addresses the way service charges are processed.

 

Distribution

  • Cash tips are distributed at the end of the shift to all staff members split by the hours worked

  • Electronic tips and gratuities, including service charges are calculated by shift hours worked and distributed to all staff who worked within 72 hours​

 

Raising Concerns

Any employee who is concerned or unhappy with the distribution of tips or gratuities allocated to them should make their manager aware of their concerns.
Any concerns will be dealt with and rectified straight away or fairly through the grievance procedure.

Note

It has always been the policy of One Society & Hidden by One Society since opening first in 2018 that all tips received were to be distributed in a timely manner, fairly & fully to all staff who worked that day.

Nothing has changed since day 1.
